Google Maps rank checker that shows your rank across the whole city
What it does: pick a search (for example "roof repair") and a grid size. Pack Leader runs that search on Google Maps from each point of a grid laid over your area and shows your rank at every point on a map. You see where you win, where you are missing, and which competitor takes your spot.
A single rank check answers "where do I rank?" for one spot. Customers search from everywhere in your area, so one number hides most of the picture.
How the grid works
- Points around your business. A 5×5 grid is 25 searches spread over your area, centered on your business.
- One real Maps search per point, as if a customer stood there.
- A color per point: green for the top 3, amber for 4 to 10, red for 11 to 20, gray when you are not in the top 20.
- Who ranks at each point: hover a point to see the businesses ranking there, so you can see who wins the areas you lose.
| Grid | Searches | Credits |
|---|---|---|
| 3×3 | 9 | 4 |
| 5×5 | 25 | 10 |
| 7×7 | 49 | 20 |
How to read your grid
- Strong center, weak edges: normal. Distance matters. Location pages and reviews that mention nearby towns help at the edges.
- Weak everywhere, even next door: a relevance problem. Check your primary category and your website title for the service. The free audit compares both with the top 3.
- One competitor wins one side of town: look at what they have that you don't. Often it is reviews, a better category match, or a page for that area.
After a grid, grid diagnosis (3 credits) explains the pattern and estimates which fix would move the most points.

Frequently asked questions
Why do I need more than one rank check?
Google Maps ranks businesses partly by distance from the person searching. You can be first next to your shop and absent two miles away. A grid shows both.
How much does a grid cost?
A 5x5 grid costs 10 credits and a 7x7 grid 20. The free plan includes 200 credits every month.
Can I see who ranks above me at each point?
Yes. Each point lists the businesses ranking there, so you can see which competitor wins which part of town.
