How to find backlink gaps in Pack Leader
Short answer: in your workspace, open the Leader X-ray, then the Links #1 has tab, and click Check links. Pack Leader pulls every website that links to the 3 businesses that lead Google Maps for your keyword near you, and not to you. It removes sites with a spam score over 30, and AI rates the rest by how much they can help your local rankings. It uses 25 credits and takes about a minute.
Run the check
- In your workspace, open Leader X-ray in the sidebar, then the Links #1 has tab.
- Click Check links. To run the listings check at the same time, click Check listings and links on the X-ray's first screen instead.
- Wait about a minute. It runs in the background.
A result is valid for 30 days. After that, the tab shows the date of the check and a Check again button. If your Google profile has no website, there is nothing to compare, and Pack Leader tells you so.
Read the result
Each row is a website that links to at least one of the top 3 and not to you:
- Site: the website. Click it to open the site.
- #1, #2, #3: a check mark for each business it links to.
- Value: how much the site can help, High first.
- First seen: the date the link was first seen.
- Ask us for this link: adds the site to a quote request.
Sites that link to #1 come first, then sites that link to more of the top 3, then high value first. When no site links to the top 3 and skips you, the tab says so, and your gap is in the profile on the X-ray's first screen.
Get the links
Start with High value sites of the kinds that are easiest for a local business: associations you can join, suppliers you buy from, local news and sponsorships.
If you would rather have it done for you, Ask us for this link or Ask us for the links #1 has opens a quote request with those sites named. Backlinks are quoted for each order. We pitch the site you pick first. If it says no, we find a site like it. See getting what the top 3 have.
For pages that already mention you without a link, run link prospects. For directory listings, run a citation gap check.
Frequently asked questions
Where does the link data come from?
From a backlink database that lists which websites link to each domain. Pack Leader compares your website with the websites of the top 3 on Google Maps.
Why are some of the top 3 missing from the check?
A business without a website on its Google profile, or whose website is only a social or directory profile, is skipped.
Can Pack Leader promise a link from a given site?
No. We pitch the site you asked for first. If it says no, we find a site like it. That is why link rows say Ask us, not Get it.
