How credits work in Pack Leader, and what each tool uses
Short answer: every Pack Leader tool uses credits when it runs, from 1 for a Google post to 120 for a citation gap check. A gap audit uses 5, a 5×5 local grid 10 and an AI visibility check 80. Each plan gives you credits every month: 200 on Free, up to 28,000 on Agency. Plan credits are used first, then top-up credits, which never expire. If a run fails, its credits come back automatically.
Every plan includes every tool. Plans differ in credits per month and in how many businesses you can manage. Current prices are on the pricing page.

Before a tool runs, Pack Leader shows how many credits it will use and how many you have.
An audit also runs a local grid. When an audit's report opens, Pack Leader automatically runs one 5×5 local grid (3 mile radius) on your first keyword. That grid uses 10 credits, and Pack Leader does not ask first. It is skipped only when you already have a grid for that keyword, run after your last Brand identity change. So your first audit uses 15 credits: 5 for the audit and 10 for the grid. See how to run a gap audit.
What each plan includes
| Plan | Price per month | Credits per month | Businesses |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0.00 | 200 | 1 |
| Starter | $24.99 | 2,500 | 1 |
| Growth | $49.99 | 5,500 | 3 |
| Pro | $99.99 | 12,000 | 10 |
| Agency | $199.99 | 28,000 | 25 |
To put the numbers in context: Starter's credits cover 250 5×5 grids a month, and Agency's cover 2,800. Most people mix tools.
When credits renew
- Free: 200 credits on the 1st of every month (UTC).
- Paid plans: your plan's full credits each time the plan renews. Unused plan credits do not roll over.
- Top-ups: never expire.
You can see Credits left, From your plan, Top-up credits and the date Plan credits renew on the Billing page. The sidebar also shows your plan and balance.
Top-ups
Top-ups are one-time packs you can buy from Billing on any plan:
| Pack | Price |
|---|---|
| 1,000 credits | $14.99 |
| 3,000 credits | $39.99 |
| 10,000 credits | $119.99 |
Pack Leader always spends your plan credits first and top-up credits after.
When a run fails
If a tool fails or takes too long, its credits go back to where they came from: plan credits to your plan, top-up credits to your top-ups. Your Billing activity shows a Given back line. On a local grid, points that fail twice are refunded in whole credits.
When you run out
Tools that need credits pause. Pack Leader tells you how many credits the tool needs and how many you have. You can top up or move to a bigger plan and keep working right away, or wait for your credits to renew.
Each tool also has a daily safety limit against runaway use. Credits are your real allowance. If you hit a daily limit, it resets the next day (UTC), and paid plans have higher limits than Free.
Change or cancel your plan
- Change plan: in Billing, click Change plan (or Upgrade on Free) and choose the new plan on the pricing page. The new plan starts today with a new monthly period and its full credits, and the old plan stops renewing.
- Cancel: in Billing, click Cancel plan. You keep your plan until the end of the period you paid for, and you are not charged again. Card subscriptions can undo this with Keep my plan. A PayPal subscription can't be restarted that way: subscribe again from the pricing page after it ends.
- Downgrade with more businesses than the new plan allows: nothing is deleted. Your oldest businesses, up to the plan limit, stay editable, and the rest become read-only until you upgrade.
Payments and invoices
You can pay by card (Visa, Mastercard) or PayPal. To pay with American Express, choose PayPal. Every payment has an Invoice link in Billing, and invoices are also emailed to you. If Pack Leader isn't for you, ask within 14 days of your first payment for a full refund. See the refund policy.
